Since 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity members have given their time and talent to provide service to others. In the late 1990s, the leadership in Chi Omega researched opportunities for establishing a national philanthropy, and in 2002, they announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance.
Since the start of this alliance, Chi Omega has raised more than 12.9 million dollars and has volunteered over half a million hours for Make-A-Wish. Because of this commitment, they recognize Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors.
Our Fraternity's goal is to have both collegiate and alumnae chapters become increasingly involved in volunteering and fundraising for Make-A-Wish and to assist in the granting of wishes to these courageous kids. Through this, all Chi Omegas can understand the importance of service to others as a founding principle of our Sisterhood. For more information about Make-A-Wish, visit wish.org.
Tulsa Chi Omega holds several philanthropy events throughout the year, which all occur during our Fall and Spring "Wish Weeks." During Fall Wish Week, we have an all-you-can-eat buffet donated by many surrounding Tulsa restaurants, along with "HootieFest," which is a field day competition between other Greek teams full of different games. During Spring Wish Week, we host a late night buffet called "Chi O Cravings," as well as "Chi O Sing," a singing competition that all fraternities and sororities are welcome to compete in. Our events are designed to create a fun atmosphere while also raising money to help grant wishes.
